Now, you probably wouldn't keep a 10″ Oscar (Astronotus ocellatus) in a 10 gallon aquarium, even though you may have been taught to follow the inch-per-gallon rule, but with the appropriate filtration, anything is possible regardless of tank size. The key is establishing the necessary balance in your aquarium to keep all of the inhabitants healthy and happy.
